Workplace Retirement Plans

Plans built
for people.

You want to help your employees prepare for retirement while building a future of your own. Longhouse helps you start a plan or take a closer look at the one you already offer.

Where Are You Today?

Start with your business.

We want to offer a planUnderstand the options, costs, and next steps. We already have a planReview the investments, service, and fees.

You do not need to choose a provider before talking with us.

Two Places to Begin

A first plan.
Or a fresh look at your current one.

We begin with what you want the plan to do for your business and the people who work there.

Starting a Plan

Build a benefit with a clear plan behind it.

Offering a retirement plan brings decisions about contributions, eligibility, investments, and administration. We help you work through those choices with the appropriate providers.

  • Discuss your workforce, budget, and owner goals.
  • Explore plan design with an administration specialist.
  • Compare providers, services, and proposed costs.
  • Coordinate the investment side of getting started.

Reviewing a Plan

Make sure your plan still fits.

A plan can keep running while your business changes around it. A review gives you room to ask whether the investments, costs, and support still meet your needs.

  • Review the investment lineup and related expenses.
  • Understand who is doing what for the plan.
  • Discuss service concerns and employee questions.
  • Identify what to keep and what deserves a closer look.

Longhouse Retirement Blueprint™

Bring the pieces together.

Your retirement plan involves more than an investment menu.

The Longhouse Retirement Blueprint starts with your goals and brings the investment, provider, and plan design conversations into a coordinated process. We help you understand the choices and the people responsible for each part.

Questions worth asking

"Does this plan fit our employees and our budget?"

"What are we paying, and what are we receiving?"

"Who is reviewing the investments?"

"Who do we call when we need help?"

We help turn those questions into a practical discussion about your plan.
Our Role

Investment guidance.
Ongoing attention.

Longhouse helps employers make informed investment decisions and establish a process for reviewing them over time.

Our responsibilities are defined in the advisory agreement, so you can understand the support you are receiving from the beginning.

Investment selection and review

Help evaluate the plan's investment options, considering diversification, expenses, and their role in the overall lineup.

Fiduciary investment support

Discuss the investment advisory arrangement that fits your plan and clarify the decisions Longhouse will advise on or manage under the agreement.

Fees and service in context

Help you understand investment-related costs and compare the services included in provider proposals.

A continuing relationship

Revisit the investment approach and coordinate with the plan's providers as your business and needs develop.

Who Does What

A team with clear responsibilities.

We help you understand how the providers work together. Specific responsibilities depend on your plan and each service agreement.

Longhouse

Investment advice

Investment selection and monitoring support, discussion of investment costs, and an ongoing advisory relationship with the employer.

Plan Administrator / TPA

Plan design and administration

Support for plan documents, design decisions, required testing, and filings, as included in the administration engagement.

Recordkeeper

Account records and access

The systems that maintain participant account records and support contributions, transactions, and employee account access.

Your role as the employer

Provide accurate payroll and employee information, carry out the duties assigned to you, and stay involved in overseeing the plan and its providers. Hiring service providers does not remove all employer responsibilities.

How It Works

From questions to a clear next step.

01

Start with a conversation

Tell us about your business, employees, and what you want to accomplish. If you have a plan, tell us what is working and what is not.

02

Review the details

For a new plan, we discuss your goals and provider options. For an existing plan, we identify the documents needed for a useful review.

03

Understand your choices

We walk through the investment approach, provider responsibilities, proposed services, and fees before you decide how to proceed.

04

Put the plan to work

We coordinate our work with the selected providers and establish the ongoing investment review process described in your agreement.

Already have a plan?

Your current fee disclosures, investment lineup, and provider agreements are useful starting points. You do not need to gather everything before our first conversation.

Meet Longhouse
Questions

Before we talk.

Can you help us start our first retirement plan?

Yes. We begin with your business goals, workforce, and budget, then work with the appropriate providers to explore plan design, administration, and investment options.

Do we have to change providers to work with Longhouse?

Not necessarily. We first review your current arrangement and whether its platform supports the advisory services you want. Any recommendation to change providers should consider costs, services, and the transition involved.

Can you review the fees in our current plan?

Yes. We can help review available fee disclosures and discuss investment expenses and provider charges in the context of the services being delivered. A review does not guarantee lower costs.

Does Longhouse handle payroll, testing, and filings?

Longhouse's role is investment advisory support. Payroll processing, plan administration, testing, and filings are handled by the employer and the relevant providers according to their agreements. We coordinate with those providers on matters related to our work.

Does hiring an adviser remove our responsibilities?

No. Responsibilities depend on the plan and the services delegated. We explain Longhouse's investment role in writing, while your administration and legal professionals can help you understand the employer's remaining duties.

How much does it cost?

Costs depend on the plan, its size, the providers, and the scope of services. We discuss Longhouse's proposed advisory fee and help you understand the other provider and investment costs before you decide to proceed.

Does the $250,000 Private Wealth minimum apply?

That is our standard minimum for adult private wealth relationships. Workplace retirement plans are evaluated separately based on the plan's needs and the proposed services.

Where do employees log in to their retirement accounts?

Employees access their workplace retirement accounts through the plan's recordkeeper. The Client Login link on this website is for Longhouse brokerage clients using Interactive Brokers.

What should I bring to the first conversation?

Start with your questions and a general picture of your business. If you already offer a plan, knowing the provider and approximate number of participants helps. We can identify any documents needed for a more detailed review afterward.
